UNIVERSITI Brunei Darussalam's (UBD) library held its first Khatam Al-Quran ceremony for it officers and their staff.
Among those present at the event were Dr Hj Suhaimi Hj Abdul Karim, acting chief librarian. The ceremony was led by Imam Hj Abdul Warith Hj Raini.
The event started with the recital of Surah al-Fatihah followed by reading of verses from Al-Quran and Doa Tahtim.
There was also a presentation of dikir and the sprinkling of scented flowers on the participants by guests.
The officers and staff of the library started reciting the the Al-Quran since February 2009 every Monday and Thursday mornings.
The library hopes to hold the event as one of their annual activities.
