WITH the consent of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, two senior officers of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) were officially promoted to Substantive Colonel.
Presenting the rank insignia to Colonel (L) Nooradin Hj Yaakob and Colonel Pg Aminan Pg Hj Mahmud was the commander of the RBAF Major General Hj Aminuddin Ihsan Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Hj Abidin.
The promotions are effective from February 5.
"Promotion of officers underpins the RBAF strategic objectives towards enhancement of condition of service and morale of the officers as well as proper career management and opportunities," said a press release issued by the RBAF.
It also stated that promotions are part of an existing career incentive for officers who have successfully undergone the necessary examinations and qualification process as well as those who exhibit leadership qualities and demonstrate outstanding performances while in service.
Attending the ceremony yesterday were service commmanders, commanders, senior officers of the RBAF and Ministry of Defence, as well as family and friends of the promoted officers.
