16 RBPF officers receive certificate of promotion

A TOTAL of 16 officers from the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) were awarded certificates for their promotion yesterday at the Officers' Mess, RBPF Gadong headquarters.

These officers had been officially promoted as of March 1, 2010, but only confirmed their new rankings yesterday with the certificate presentation by Acting Deputy Police Commissioner (Operations) Pehin Orang Kaya Pendikar Alam Hj Hasrin Dato Paduka Hj Sabtu.

Sixteen of the probationary officers, 13 males and two females, were promoted to Assistant Superintendent Police (ASP) while one officer was promoted to Senior Inspector.

Also present at the ceremony were directors, deputy directors, government officials and RBPF personnel.

Meanwhile, another certificate presentation was held for RBPF officers who recently completed a two-week Customer Service Course at the Police Training Centre.

The ceremony began with the recital of Surah Al-Fatihah which was followed by a speech by Sgt Muhd Nor Arif Abdul Mokti.

In his speech, Sgt Muhd Nor Arif said that he was proud to receive positive comments from the course facilitators comprising officers and personnel from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) and FM Brunei, who were satisfied with the performance and willingness of the participants during the course.

"One of the many mechanisms of the RBPF is to carry out all kinds of training courses, vision and team planning that is sufficient to our primary aspects, such as implementation of the law, general rules, being knowledgeable and nurturing teams to be more innovative, efficient, robust and competitive," said Sgt Muhd Nor Arif in his speech.

He also urged the participants to not only be satisfied with what was taught to them, but to use the knowledge and benefits to its potential and accept any given opportunity for future courses.

Following the speech, certificates were handed to the participating officers by guest of honour, Superintendent Pg Hj Muhammad Pg Hj Metali, Acting Commandant of the Police Training Centre.

The participants also presented a gift to the Police Training Centre as a token of appreciation.
