THE CENTRE for Strategic and Policy Studies (CSPS) recently held a closeddoor forum to discuss the Inception report from Powertech Lab, the consultants commissioned by CSPS to conduct a feasibility study on alternative energy sources in Brunei.
The consultants are also tasked with formulating a roadmap towards achieving energy security and sustainability in the country, a press release from CSPS stated.
There are seven alternative energy sources under study, solar, ocean, hydrogen, wing, bio energy, nuclear and hydropower. The full findings of the study are not yet available as the consultants have not completed their data collection.
The forum started with welcoming remarks from the Chair of CSPS Board of Directors Dato Paduka Hj Murni Hj Mohamed, followed by an overview of the study by CSPS Senior Researcher Dr Diana Cheong.
A presentation was then made by Powertech Lab on their main findings on the seven alternative energy sources. The Brunei Times
