Asean foreign ministers prepare for East Asia Summit

ASEAN held the Special Informal Asean Foreign Ministers' Meeting on the East Asia Summit (EAS) yesterday.

His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah (4th R), Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade attended the meeting with other foreign ministers and the Secretary-General of Asean to discuss preparations for the 6th EAS later this year, the first involving new EAS members of Russia and the United States..

The meeting was chaired by His Excellency RM Marty Natalegawa, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia (6th L). The others in the EPA picture (L-R) are: Myanmar's Minister of Foreign Affairs Wunna Maung Lwin, Philippines' Secretary of Foreign Affairs Albert Del Rosario, Singapore's Minister of Foreign Affairs George Yeo, Thailand's Minister of Foreign Affairs Kasit Piromya, Vietnam's Standing Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh, Cambodia's Secretary of State Kao Kim Hourn, Laos' Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Thongloun Sisoulith, Malaysia's Minister of Foreign Affairs Anifah Aman and Asean Secretary General Surin Pitsuwan yesterday. Indonesia will host the 18th Asean Summit in Jakarta on May 7 and 8, 2011.
