THE theme for the upcoming visit by His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam to the Belait District in conjunction with the ruler's 65th birthday celebrations has been confirmed as "Raja pemurah junjungan kasih" (Love for our generous monarch).

The decision was made on Wednesday during the second meeting of the Belait Executive Committee for His Majesty's 65th birthday Celebrations, which was held at the residence of Belait District Officer Matusin Orang Kaya Sura Hj Tuba, as chairman of the committee.

The theme will be a fitting reflection of the more than 40 years rule of Brunei under His Majesty, whereby Bruneians enjoyed peace and prosperity in the country, care and concern from the government, and the continuous improvement of living conditions, all from the support of His Majesty.

The meeting also saw the discussion on the action plans for the events to celebrate the monarch's birthday, including a flag-raising ceremony, the recitation of the whole of Al-Quran (Khatam Al-Quran) for 65 times, His Majesty's meet and greet session with the district's residents, the facilities, logistics, flags, and the reports by all the various committees on their preparations.

The chairman in his remarks called for all members to work hand-in-hand, lend support to each other, to ensure a successful celebration to commemorate His Majesty 65th birthday in Belait District.
