HER Royal Highness Princess Fadzilah Lubabul Bulqiah expressed her approval and praised the Brunei booth during her visit to the Brunei Energy Expo 2011, which was officially launched yesterday morning at the BRIDEX Hall, Jerudong.

"I'm very impressed with the exhibition. The organisers have done well to bring in established energy companies to participate and ensure the success of the exhibition," HRH said to The Brunei Times.

"I particularly like the Brunei booth, which gives us a snapshot of what the Energy White paper will be like and I actually look forward to reading it."

HRH said Pehin Dato Hj Mohd Yasmin and his team should also be commended for implementing the strategies to ensure the country would be able to fulfill its vision and objectives with regards to the 2035 Vision, which is to ensure the sustainability of the country and its people for generations to come.

"I honestly believe with this initiative, we will actually realise that dream," said HRH.

Asked how kids could be enouraged to be more energy-wise in today's society, HRH Princess Fadzilah said that as we now live in a knowledge-based economy, "The key here is education, especially in energy-efficiency and conservation, and it is important that we not only educate the young generation but everyone in this country."

Speaking on the Mitsubishi Miev electrical car that was launched at the expo yesterday, HRH also agreed that she'd like to see more eco-friendly cars like this on the roads.

"It looks cool. I believe that is where the future and direction of the automobile industry will be heading into, and we have to embrace and accept those changes especially to reduce greenhouse gases which is a major topic in the world today," she said adding that she knows there are quite a few concept electrical cars being showcased around the world and "I've actually seen them in the streets of London where they charge the cars using charging stations by the side of the road. It's small, compact and I guess easy to park, similar to the Mitsubishi car."
