THE 9th Consumer Fair (CF9) will not just be a shopping haven for consumers or business opportunity for vendors, it will also be a platform for children to enjoy fun and educational activities, said the organisers.
Sunlit Advertising yesterday inked contracts with its partners to hold the CF9 at the International Convention Centre from January 4 to 8 next year.
Speaking with The Brunei Times, Sunlit Assistant Marketing Manager Sherly Tan said the CF9, besides having more international vendors, will be "something different" from previous fairs as it will offer more than just consumer goods.
Members of the public can look forward to a "Kids' World", an interactive fun and educational theme park for children, featuring character appearances such as Spongebob Squarepants, Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story and Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean. Other things visitors can expect at the five-day fair include the Red-Bull Monkey Run, arcade games and air dry beady dough activities.
More than 330 booths, featuring vendors from 10 countries, will showcase the best local, regional and international goods from a wide range of categories including furniture, fashion and beauty, health products, food products and electronics, she said.
The consumer fair, Tan added, aimed to provide exposure to consumer products available in the market, and serve as a platform for corporate entities and small-medium enterprises (SMEs) to introduce their products. The fair also allows local and international exhibitors to examine market trends and expand their business network for future business opportunities in Brunei.
The CF8, held in May this year, attracted over 100,000 visitors and Tan expressed hopes that the upcoming fair will draw in more.
"We also target tourists, that's why we have an advert at the Arrival Hall at the airport. We want visitors to the country to be aware of what activities and products Brunei has to offer."
The Consumer Fair, since its introduction in 2008, is supported by the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources. More information on CF9 can be found at www.bruneiconsumerfair.com.
