State mufti delivers dawn lecture:
THE State Mufti's Office of the Prime Minister's Office yesterday conducted a dawn lecture at Masjid Kg Sungai Besar, as part of the office's religious activities to mark the upcoming Maulidur Rasul.
The programme known as "Kuliah Subuh Bersama Mufti", was held after the Subuh (dawn) prayers and featured a talk by State Mufti Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz (Dr) Hj Abdul Aziz Juned.
In his lecture, the state mufti retold stories of a prophet, which offered lessons and knowledge, and in most certain ways, miracles (mukjizat).
He touched on the life of Prophet Musa (Alaihissalam), which was filled with strange tales, full of danger and fear.
According to the state mufti, at the time Prophet Musa (AS) was born, it was an era that could be called "the age or year of slaughter", because at that time, King Firaun (Pharoah) issued orders to his army, police, and spies to bring any male Israelites born sons to him to be slaughtered by his own hands.
Pharoah was arrogant, powerful, and a tyrant. He thought himself to be god. In his kingdom, the people led miserable lives. They were forced to work as slaves. They were chained and whipped if they refused to work. The Israelites were looked down upon in that society. They suffered badly due to destitution. Some of them grew weak and died of starvation.
Pehin Dato Ustaz Hj Abdul Aziz explained that the knowledge of Allah (SWT) is vast, with no boundaries, which cannot be afforded or simply imagined by the human mind. Allah (SWT) knows everything, and is the one who sets it all, he reminded.
Allah (SWT) never breaks promises, and that all his promises are the truth. A clear example would be on the life of Prophet Musa (AS).
Prophet Musa (AS) was left floating on a basket by order(wahyu) of Allah (SWT), and in the end, Prophet Musa (AS) returned to his mother safe and secure, after being found and adopted by Pharoah's wife. Human logic cannot accept that throwing a child into the sea could ever lead to such fate, the state mufti said. But, by the will of Allah (SWT), the act could lead to such accurate fate. The state mufti picked a verse from the Al-Quran, Surah al-Qasas, verse 13, which reads, "So We restored him to his mother that she might be comforted and not grieve, and that she might know that the promise of Allah (SWT) is true. But most of them know not."The Brunei Times
