MoHA attends dikir in Sg Liang Mosque

TO ENLIVEN the nights in anticipation of Maulidur Rasul, a delegation from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) attended a dikir ceremony at Kampung Sungai Liang Mosque, Belait yesterday.

Besides expressing feelings of love and loyalty for Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the dikir ceremony also aimed to promote harmony and congregation to the mosque among the residents of Mukim Sungai Liang.

In addition, the ceremony also aspired to strengthen ties between the MoHA officials, grassroot leaders, Mukim and Village Consultative Council (MPK) and residents within the mukim.

The dikir ceremony began after the mass Maghrib prayers and mass hajat prayers.

The ceremony ended with the reading of the Doa Selamat before the mass Isyak prayers.

As many as three dikir was recited during the night: the Dikir Assalamualaika, which was led by the MPK of Kampung Sungai Liang, the Dikir Bisharin Udana Laila, which was led by the Sungai Liang mosque committee and the Dikir Asyarakal, which was led by the MPK of Kampung Lumut I and Lumut II.

Leading the MoHA delegation to Sungai Liang Mosque yesterday was Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Hj Badaruddin Pengarah Dato Paduka Hj Othman, Minister of Home Affairs.

Also present were Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Hj Halbi Hj Mohd Yussof, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, permanent secretaries, deputy permanent secretaries, head of departments, senior officers as well as officials from departments under the ministry, the penghulus and village heads within the district, MPK members and village residents. A similar event was held previously in Temburong.

The ceremony was organised by MPK of Mukim Liang and Kampung Sungai Liang Mosque committee. The Brunei Times
