Babies born on National Day receive presents

AS THE nation celebrated the 28th anniversary of Brunei's independence on February 23 recently, 16 babies were born on this meaningful day.

To celebrate the special occasion, Chairman of First Emporium and Supermarket Lim Koh Phay yesterday presented gifts to the lucky mothers.

Held at Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) hospital, the gifts were presented to display the spirit of togetherness as citizens of Brunei, which was in line with the National Day theme, 'Negaraku Brunei Darussalam'.

One of the lucky mothers, Soh Ek Chan, who gave birth to her fifth child, she said that she was happy to receive the gift.

Similarly, Siti Noor Halifah Hj Basir, also said that she was grateful for the gift.

The ceremony was attended by the Chief Executive Officer of RIPAS hospital Hj Muhd Jamal Hj Tersad, the CEO of Suri Seri Begawan Hospital in Kuala Belait and Head of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Unit at RIPAS hospital Dr Hjh Roselina Dato Paduka Hj Yaakub.

There were a total of 16 babies born on the National Day.
