A BRUNEIAN woman did the nation proud when she received a coveted recognition of CEO Award of Excellence from a major Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) company in Qatar.
Hjh Zainab MA Omar was the only female recipient out of 14 other employees selected for the prestigious award from Qatargas (QG) during the company's 12th Gala Night Dinner celebration last week. Held at the Qatar National Convention Centre, the theme of the celebration was Celebrating 15 Years of Achievements in recognition of the Qatar's first delivery of LNG supply to Japan in 1997.
Hjh Zainab received the award from QG CEO Khalid bin Khalifa Al-Thani for her outstanding performance for the year 2011.
For her, the award is an honour for all Bruneians in Qatar and with it comes the sense of pride for Brunei Darussalam, her home country.
The award signifies the valuable contribution of Bruneians abroad especially in QG, Qatar.
The CEO Award of Excellence is the most prestigious award in QG and is bestowed on employees who have made sustained and exceptional performance by the QG staff.
It also recognises the most significant contribution made to a project or organizational significance, a press release from the company read.
Hjh Zainab has had ample experience in the oil and gas industry prior to joining the world's biggest LNG company in Qatar. She had previously served in the BSP Co Sdn Bhd and Brunei LNG for 25 years. Hjh Zainab was the Corporate Affairs Manager at Brunei LNG until the end of 2008, when she moved to her current job in Qatar.
