Two locals caught forcigarette smuggling

THE Royal Brunei Police Force yesterday foiled an attempt by two men to smuggle 65 cartons of cigarettes into the country.

The attempt was made by two locals, who are both in their 40s, down the Kampung Bebuloh road.

The reserved unit were on their regular patrol and caught the men who were in the middle of loading two large bags into their vehicle at 9.30pm on April 11.

The police brought the two men to the Limau Manis Police Station for further questioning while the cigarettes in question were also taken to the station.

The case will also be handed over to the Royal Brunei Custom and Excise Department for further action.

Meanwhile, the Royal Brunei Police Force is encouraging the general public to report any criminal activities.
