A THOUSAND posters will be distributed nationwide in a bid to generate publicity about the upcoming celebrations for the 51st anniversary of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF).
Published by the Information Department, the posters were handed over yesterday to representatives from various government ministries and agencies during a ceremony held at the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) headquarters in Muara. The acting director of the Information Department, Noorashidah Hj Aliomar, explained that posters designed for the upcoming celebrations is an effective promotional strategy.
"The publication of posters for the 51st anniversary of the RBAF will undoubtedly create effective publicity and greater promotion about the celebrations among the wider public. With these posters, the public will be informed about the upcoming celebrations," she said in her speech.
She further urged for the posters to be treated with appreciation and also advised for the posters to be placed in suitable areas where it can be seen clearly by members of the public. According to the acting director, the Information Department plays an important role towards ensuring that all segments of society throughout the country are able to receive and obtain up-to-date information that are authentic, accurate and relevant.
She added that the department's vision towards an informed society could strengthen the unity and well-being of the nation.
Meanwhile, Noorashidah also commented that the posters designed annually for the anniversary of the RBAF is a longstanding collaborative effort between the Information Department and the RBAF, which serves to build cooperation between the two parties.
Two different posters were designed for the 51st anniversary of the RBAF, announcing the theme of 'Mempertahankan Negaraku Brunei Darussalam' for the celebrations.
The theme, which translates to 'Protecting My Country Brunei Darussalam', was inspired by the theme for this year's National Day, said Colonel (L) Hj Aznan Hj Julaihi, chairman of the celebrations for the 51st anniversary of the RBAF.
He remarked that the theme encompasses the aspirations of the RBAF, which sets out to foster determination and commitment among the personnel towards towards carrying out their duties.
The celebrations for the 51st anniversary of the RBAF will be held at the RBN headquarters in Muara on May 31. The Brunei Times
