OFFICERS and staff at the Co-Curriculum Education Department (JPKK) on Wednesday attended a religious talk to commemorate the Isra' Mi'raj celebration as well as to prepare for the holy month of Ramadhan, held at the JPKK building in Lambak Kanan.

The annual event was aimed at reminding the participants of the acts of worship that are wajib (obligatory) and sunat (recommended, but not essential) carried out during Ramadhan, as well as to deepen their knowledge on the journey made by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) from Masjidil Haram to Masjid Al-Aqsa.

The talk was delivered by an invited guest from the Islamic Da'wah Centre, Ustaz Muskrisman Safari Hj Mustafa, who underscored the importance of taqwa (piousness) and solat (prayers), such as solat playing an important role in the lives of Muslims.

He also reminded participants that fasting teaches people to be more vigilant, particularly in training them to avoid bad behaviour.

Also in attendance were Acting Assistant Director of JPKK, Pg Hjh Norhani Pg Hj Ismail, and Head of Religious Section and co-chairperson, Hj Hamdani Kula. The Brunei Times
