ROYAL BRUNEI AIRLINES (RBA) has successfully made the switch to e-ticketing, comfortably beating the June 1, 2008 deadline set by the International Airport Transport Association (IATA).
The national carrier has now joined other major airlines as they switch to e-tickets, with all expected to convert to e-ticketing. The electronic document has now replaced conventional paper tickets across its entire network. Alongside meeting the IATA requirement, the new achievement also sees 96 per cent e-tickets with their interline partner airlines.
Meanwhile, the RBA Summer Schedule will begin tomorrow, June 1. The schedule is aimed to strengthen the overall network with the introduction of flights which improve accessibility to Brunei Darussalam from a variety of regional and international destinations.
However, due to the rise of oil prices, the capacity on certain routes has been adjusted.
"Flights to Kuching will operate three times weekly and to Jakarta six times weekly," said a statement from Royal Brunei Airlines. Flights to Perth, Australia remain daily, however RBA will be operating the Airbus A320 on the route to the land down under. (ISY1)The Brunei Times
