PROJEK Ikan Pusu (PIP) have set a date to play against the Brisbane Youth Soccer Clinics (BYSC), a football development programme based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia in two friendly matches on December 8 at the Berakas Sports Complex.
Kick-offs for the under-14 teams will be at 6.30pm, while the under-15 teams will play at 8pm.
With the Aussie boys having the physical advantage and currently training with the Sheffield United Football Academy in Sheffield, England since November 21, PIP head coach Hj Omar Hj Jamil is expecting an extremely tough challenge by the Aussie boys, but has made sure his boys are fit and armed before they go into battle.
Rigorous intensive training has begun since November 12, playing every afternoon of the week.
"The boys are shaping up well and are all in great spirits. We will do our very best to give our opponents two good memorable matches. It's not only the fun of playing; our boys will learn from this exposure against the Aussie boys," said the PIP head coach, who is also assisted by Faizalani Abd Ghani.
This won't be the first time for PIP to play against an Australian youth team, having played against the Queensland Total Football Academy junior squad in August last year, where the home team suffered a demoralising 6-0 loss.
"Past records don't count for much. That is history. At PIP, we always look at the future, where it really matters, and I am certain the coaches and the boys will deliver again. They are shaping up really well," commented Cheah.
