8 RBLF runners off to S'pore for Half Marathon 2010

A contingent of eight personnel from the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF) were sent to Singapore to take part in the Half Marathon 2010 yesterday.

The contingent, led by 804 Lieutenant Khairul Azme Hj Mohidin, will be representing their unit in the marathon organised by the Republic of Singapore's Army.

Also in the contingent is 12561 Corporal Othman Mustapha, 14247 Corporal Rahimi Hj Hassan, 14706 Corporal Zulkifli Mohamad Jailani, 12881 Lance Corporal Hj Busu Hj Nudin, 16338 Private Mastani Mohamad Yussop, 17881 Private Sld Zaidi Alladin and 17772 Private Norliham Hj Hamidon.

Prior to leaving for the marathon, slated from September 7 to 14, the contingent had made advanced preperations by undergoing exercises conducted by the Performance Optimization Centre (POC).

Despite the marathon being held over the Hari Raya festivities, and having to train during the month of Ramadhan, the eight participants remain in "high spirits and are persevering," according to a press release issued by the Royal Brunei Armed Forces. A half marathon is a road running event of about 21 kilometers.
