Bina Jaj Darts tourney begins DARTS

THE 2012 Bina Jaj Contractor Darts Championship kicked off on Monday with 80 entries in the individual novice category.

Organised by Riziq Event Management Services with the cooperation of the Brunei Darussalam National Darts Association, two other categories are being contested during the tournament at the Lambak Kanan Housing Development Scheme's Community Hall 1 in Berakas individual open and doubles open.

A Press release issued by the organisers yesterday stated that the individual open category was contested yesterday with around 70 entries with both the individual categories competed over one day, though results of both events were not available as of Press time.

The three-day doubles open will start today and registration is open until the draw at 7:30pm with play starting right after.

The highlight of the tournament, the doubles open's champions who will be crowned on Friday will pocket $700. The runners-up will take home $300 while the losing semi-finalists will each get $150.

Champions of both the individual categories will receive $150 and dart boards while the runners-up and losing semi-finalists will win $100 and $50 respectively.

All prizes will be handed out after the close of the doubles open on Friday.

Apart from title sponsors Bina Jaj Contractor, Imperial Sports and Uni Arcade Funland have also contributed to the tournament by sponsoring the dart boards awarded to the champions of the individual open and individual novice categories. The Brunei Times
